Shermaine is a passionate psychotherapist who believes in providing a safe space to journey with clients towards leading more fulfilling lives, by guiding them to adopt healthier perspectives and habits to achieve their goals. She offers psychotherapy services to adolescents and adults from varying backgrounds who are faced with emotional and mental health-related struggles, mood issues, stress and anxiety, adjustment to changes, interpersonal and relationship issues.
Having first obtained her B.A. (Hons) in Psychology from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, and her Master of Counselling from Monash University, Shermaine has offered psychotherapy in different clinical settings — public healthcare, within the social service and community, and for individuals undergoing rehabilitation programmes.
In the therapeutic space, Shermaine highly values empathy and prioritises her clients’ well-being. Seeing each client as a unique person, she adopts a client-centred integrative approach that adapts to the needs and strengths of each individual. She is trained in and practices evidence-based interventions, such as Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
