Self-defence is a countermeasure that involves defending one's health and well-being from harm.

Self-defence include various styles of martial arts with a variety of self-defence techniques. Such techniques can train one on how to escape from a knife or gun situation, how to break away from a punch, or how to attack.  Self-defence schools often use a combination of martial arts styles and techniques to customise training to suit individual participants.
